Prescriptions

Repeat Prescriptions

Please give at least 72 hours notice for repeat prescriptions (Weekends and Bank Holiday are NOT working hours) by completing a Prescriptions Request Form available from the surgery – or the retained part of your computerised prescription – and then delivering it to the surgery.

For reasons of safety, we do not accept prescription requests over the telephone unless you are on our register of housebound patients, which you will have discussed with the practice. The surgery is closed on Bank Holidays, so please allow additional time i.e. 3 working days to request your prescription.

You will be asked to nominate a Pharmacy of your choice from which to collect your medication. Southgate Medical Group now operates Electronic Prescribing which means that your prescription will not be printed at the Surgery but will go directly to the Pharmacy you have chosen. When you collect your prescription (which can now be tracked at every stage by us at SMG), the Pharmacy will give you the printed list of your repeats to use when requesting your next supply.

Please note that if you request medication that has not been given to you on a regular basis the doctor may need to see you and / or speak to you.
